Healthcare Navigators - The new way to be seen:
From October 2018, you may have noticed a change when you ask for an appointment. You may now speak to a 'Healthcare Navigator' who is trained to offer you an appointment with the most appropriate person depending on your need and urgency.
They may ask you a couple of questions in order to navigate you to the person best suited to help you. The Healthcare Navigator is not being nosey, nor will they make any clinical decisions, they have been trained to help you get the most appropriate care, from the most appropriate person. Healthcare Navigators, like all members of the team, are bound by the same confidentiality rules. Thank you for your support.
If your doctor has approved you for repeat prescriptions you can order them in a number of ways:
In Person - by ticking the items you require on the repeat slip and dropping it in the box at reception.
By Post - enclosing a self-addressed stamped envelope for its return.
By Telephone - on 01527 599768 between 1pm and 3pm daily. Please note that the prescription line is very busy on Monday afternoons.
Online - follow the link at the top of this page and complete a simple registration. Please choose your collection point. If the pharmacy you are requesting is marked with an asterix please contact the pharmacy to let them know you have requested a prescription. You can also register for Patient Services, please see home page.
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see either a doctor or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications.
Please allow two full working days between requesting and collecting your prescription from the surgery. For deliveries and collection from a pharmacy please allow four working days.
Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs). The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.
There are several payment options available. If you choose the 12 month PPC, you can pay for this by 10 monthly direct debit instalments.
